Multitasking isn’t a myth—it’s a natural part of everyday life. Some of us might be more efficient at it than others, but the truth is, we all have to navigate juggling home life, external demands, and personal goals. To stay on track, it’s crucial to have a clear vision of what you truly want to achieve.

When I had three kids in four years, I thought I knew what multitasking was—but I quickly discovered a whole new level. For a while, setting goals felt like a fantasy. Survival was the priority. Over time, I tried various methods to stay focused and realised two key things:

  • I have to deeply want my goal; otherwise, it gets lost in the busyness of life.
  • The need to tie my goal to a vision for my future and track my progress toward it.

Do you ever feel like your goals are slipping through your fingers? Like you know what to do, but staying on track feels impossible? You’re not alone. Many people struggle with consistency, clarity, and focus—not because they lack motivation but because life simply gets in the way.

The truth is, setting goals is easy. Staying on track? That’s the real challenge. As a coach, I’ve learned that achieving your goals requires intentional strategies, faith, and having someone to guide and encourage you along the way.

The Challenge To Stay on Track With Your Goals

Sometimes, despite our best intentions, we lose momentum. We know the strategies we “should” use, yet we stumble in the daily execution. Why?

Often, it’s because we’re trying to go it alone. Without support, accountability, and clarity, it’s easy to veer off course. That’s why having someone to guide you—a coach or mentor—can be transformative.

How A Coach Helped Me Stay On Track

I once heard a statement that resonated deeply:
“A great coach is like having your own GPS system to guide you toward success.”

That analogy rings true for me. I’ve experienced it firsthand in my fitness journey with a personal trainer who helped me achieve results I’d never reached on my own. Roger didn’t just push me physically; he adapted our sessions based on where I was each week, ensuring I didn’t stagnate or give up.

He helped me get so invested in my progress that if I was out and unsure of the best food to choose from what was available, I’d call him and he’d guide me through the decision. It was one of the many benefits I experienced working with him. I lost about 10kgs, my body got more defined and I felt great about myself.

Later, when I needed clarity about my future, I worked with a coach in Canada. Despite the financial challenges, I invested in her guidance—and it paid off in ways I couldn’t have imagined. She helped me redefine my direction, uncover deeper purpose, and stay on track.

Do You Have Someone Helping You Stay on Track?

As believers, you have incredible resources to draw on: the Holy Spirit, Scripture, and faith communities. But sometimes, you need something extra. You need someone who’s focused solely on you — someone who listens deeply, asks the right questions, and helps you move forward with clarity and confidence. To help you get out of your own head with all the circulating thoughts and make decisions.

Here’s what a coach brings to the table:

  • Clarity: They help you uncover your true goals and the steps to achieve them.
  • Challenge: They encourage you to confront limiting beliefs and break free from them.
  • Accountability: They keep you focused on your vision, ensuring you don’t lose sight of what matters most.
  • Growth: They guide you toward action, helping you learn and grow without judgment.
  • Faith Integration: For faith-driven individuals, a coach aligns strategies with biblical principles for lasting success.

Adding mentoring to the mix enhances the relationship further. A mentor shares personal experiences and insights, offering wisdom and guidance to navigate challenges.

A Client Testimonial: Helping Michelle Stay On Track

I explored some coaches out there, took ‘free’ courses and even had a consult with an overseas coach, however, it just didn’t feel right.

I met Sharryn at a conference a few years ago and felt she had something special to offer. Some 3 years later (I wish I did it sooner) I contacted Sharryn. I was ‘stuck’, full of amazing ideas and possibilities. I wanted to refine my business offerings but needed someone else to guide and challenge me. I had a million things to do! So it was time for me to step out and into my own vulnerability.

I had heard Sharryn speak with a conviction and authority about business and the things of God. The focus on God was the key thing that led me to sign up with Sharryn. I also knew she was an experienced business woman and coach. I knew I would be challenged and I need that to move forward. I knew I might even be a little ‘scared’. LOL. However, it was a ‘good scared’.

As I stepped into our coaching relationship, I learnt so much about God and the Bible as the foundation of my business journey. Not only did I grow in my walk with the Lord, but my direction in my business became clearer.

I stepped out in faith guided and supported by Sharryn. I took action and things happened.

I continue on this business journey taking new skills and knowledge to grow my business successfully and in alignment to the things important to me.

Faith and Focus: A Powerful Combination

When I coach clients, they often come with surface-level goals but quickly discover that deeper thoughts and beliefs shape their actions. For those seeking faith-driven success, aligning with God is foundational.

As Jesus said:
“With God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

Navigating life’s challenges without Him often leads to frustration and missed opportunities. A coach can help you stay aligned with God’s purpose while providing practical strategies to achieve your goals.

Six Strategies to Stay on Track with Your Goals

If you’re ready to refocus and move forward with clarity, here are six powerful strategies to help you stay on track:

Start with God Every Day

Begin each morning in prayer and Scripture. Prioritise time with God above all else, even if it means waking up earlier.

“Seek first the kingdom of God…” (Matthew 6:33). This daily commitment will transform your perspective and anchor your focus.

Clarify Your Vision

Reflect on your life’s purpose. What will you say to God when He asks, “What have you done for Me?” Let your vision align with His heart and desires.

In truth the more you give yourself to searching the scriptures and prayerfully asking God for clarity, the better for grasping those opportunities that God opens up by the Holy Spirit.

Seek Knowledge and Wisdom

Commit to continuous learning. Read books, listen to podcasts, and seek out mentors. “By wisdom, a house is built” (Proverbs 24:3). Growth comes from gaining insight and applying it to your journey.

Break Free from Limiting Beliefs

Stop being stuck in “shoulds” or religious constraints. Jesus came to bring liberty, not limits.
