Understanding what stage of business you’re in is so critical to growing with purpose and clarity. Whether you’re just looking to create some revenue streams so you can work from home, or you’re building a specific business, having a framework makes everything so much easier.

In a series of interviews I conducted interviewing female entrepreneurs about their journeys, starting and building a business I learned there was no one way. What stood out to me was the sheer integrity of their paths—from the spark of an idea to successful six-figure businesses.

But here’s what really caught my attention: after surveying these women, 62.5% said their biggest realisation was the need for more focus and decision-making.

  • Operating from a poverty mindset led to acting small and limiting potential, rooted in the belief that success could happen without self-investment.
  • Experience was undervalued, overlooking how much time, money, and frustration could be saved by seeking guidance from experienced mentors.
  • Without knowing what questions to ask or how to think strategically, valuable resources were wasted through constant stumbling and missteps.

Scale Up

You’re breaking through the “skill ceiling,” moving beyond being tied to daily activities. This stage often involves hiring help and delegating effectively.

Leader Up

You’ve reached the top of the mountain. Your business is established, and you’re a leader in your market.
